Our new office in Chichester is officially opened

We are delivering the government’s Restart Scheme in the city.

And we officially opened our new office at Midland House on Market Avenue on Thursday 17 March – and our team have already supported dozens of people into work.

The Restart Scheme is helping people who have been out of work for nine months or longer to pick up the skills they need for the modern workforce and helping them with tailored support to find suitable, sustainable jobs.

Our team are on hand to help with everything from updating CVs to tackling health concerns, and impressing at interviews to launching new start-up businesses.

The team are already working with some of the region’s leading employers, including Thames Water, Royal Mail, XPO Logistics, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. And since Fedcap began delivering the scheme last year, it has supported more than 2,300 people across the South Central area of England to successfully find new jobs.

Councillor Steve Waight, Cabinet Member for Support Services and Economic Development at West Sussex County Council, said: “The Restart Scheme is an incredibly important programme that will allow the economy to recover and livelihoods to be rebuilt after a two-year pandemic. A lot of people have been hit really hard during that time so it's crucial they get the support they need.”

Brian Bell, Chief Executive at Fedcap Employment, said: “We’re committed to supporting people in Chichester and the surrounding area to get back to work – and this new office provides the perfect base for us to do just that.

“We’re already starting to see the impact of our work here. Every day, we’re seeing people pick up the skills, confidence and experience they need to help get their careers back on track.”
